1929 Half Eagle: Uncirculated Condition Insights
The level of eye appeal on the 1929 Indian Head Half Eagle is above-average. As mentioned above, examples generally have indented lines on the obverse and reverse which are mint-made. The surfaces are usually very abraded but the color and luster tend to be quite good.
The 1929 Indian Head Half Eagle is an issue that did not see much - if any - circulation and it is almost never seen below the AU58 to MS60 range. It is scarce in the lower Uncirculated grades and very scarce in MS63. MS64 examples are popular and rare, despite the current PCGS/NGC population figures which appear to be highly inflated. MS-65’s are very rare.
